Sometimes I just have to laugh about how people (including myself) approach the acne problem. Basically, the general approach is to look for some sort of magic solution that will solve the problem. We want a pill or a cream or a home remedy that will solve our acne woes without having to make any sort of lifestyle change. It’s comical really.

Here’s your magic bullet if you want to control your acne problem: Change Your Bad HABITS!!

This site has some of the best home remedies for acne that will ever be found anywhere, but you will only receive minimal gains from them unless you change those habits that lead to acne formation within your life. Yes, it’s true that some natural remedies for acne work better than others depending on the type of acne and your skin type. You might have to experiment with a couple different acne home remedies before you find one that works for you. However, you will never know which one works until you do all the other things right.

So what are these bad habits that you need to drop?

Well, I can’t tell you all of the bad habits out there, but I can tell you a few new habits that you probably need to develop: (1) Eat healthy, (2) exercise regularly, (3) don’t sleep on your face, (4) get enough sleep, (5) wash your hands regularly, (6) manage your stress, and (7) use your home remedy for acne on a consistent basis.

Washing your hands regularly helps.

I honestly can’t say enough about eating healthy foods, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. There is a show in the United States called the Biggest Loser. The contestants on this show are extremely overweight. They get taken to a secluded place where they are forced to exercise regularly, eat healthy, and get enough sleep. Guess what happens? They lose tons of weight. Guess what else happens (even though the show is not about this)? Their skin starts looking a hundred times better. Their skin, especially the skin on their face, goes from looking very sickly to looking fresh and vibrant. Even if you don’t need to drop some weight, doing these simple things will help get your skin healthier (thus helping your acne problem). Exercising regularly might be one of the best natural remedies for acne available.

Sleeping on your face can cause some serious acne problems. This is a habit that most people who suffer from acne don’t think about. If you usually sleep on your stomach, try sleeping on your side, or on your back. In any situation wash your pillow case frequently.

Once you are doing all these small things that attribute to good health, then you can start worrying about which of the many home remedies for acne you should be using. If you are trying home remedies (or any acne treatment for that matter) and you aren’t practicing the other good habits listed above then you will have no idea if the treatment or remedy is working or not. The remedy might be doing its part, but it could be all that bad food you ate that is the problem. Or it could be that you never exercise, or that you are touching your face with dirty hands all day.

Once you have some good habits formed, then start applying home remedies for acne on a consistent basis. Consistency is the key. With good habits and good remedies, your acne shouldn’t be a problem for long.

  1. Your article is very informative. I agree with you, treatment starts with changing bad habits. As I am a lucky one and never suffered from acne, I cannot tell if these remedies are helpful. But they sound reasonable.

  2. Nice article, i like it :) Washing face wіƖƖ ensure thаt уουr pores аrе open аnԁ sebum οr oil саnnοt accumulate thеrе. If thе skin іѕ cleaned еνеrу day, thе amount οf blackheads wіƖƖ ԁеfіnіtеƖу bе reduced. Garlic саn bе used tο dispose οf acne scars. Yου simply ɡеt garlic, сυt іt open аnԁ thеn уου dab іt οn уουr scarring fοr ѕοmе few minutes, аnԁ thеn уου wash уουr face. Thіѕ ѕhουƖԁ аƖѕο bе done daily until уου see thе mandatory result.

  4. toothpaste helps acne go away just so u ppl know

  5. I used to suffer from terrible acne, whiteheads on my nose and face to be precise. I made a few changes similar to what’s been mentioned in this article. Exercised more, ate better and changed to a less stressful job. I noticed a big improvement, however I still get the occasional whitehead or blackhead. Very good article!

  6. Hi,
I agree with everything written in the article. The base of everything is a healthy diet and regular exercise. This is the best prevention for everybody.
However, it is true that we are different and everyone should find out what suits him best.
In any case, fresh fruits and vegetables should be a part of everybody’s healthy diet. A tasty, simple, and efficient way to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet is through fresh juices and smoothies.
Much useful information on this topic, including healthy recipes for many health problems (also acne), you can find at http://www.natural-juicing-remedies.com. It’s really worth a try.

  7. According to Dermatologists you are perpetuating a myth. Most Acne is not overcome in the way you mention.
My son is a fanatic on what goes in his body, eats non processed foods and he drinks a gallon of water a day. He lifts weights 5 days a week. He plays football runs track and is in fantastic shape.
His acne is not cleared up by any of the methods you mention.
So before you condemn everyone who has acne as lazy and or unhealthy you may want to get all the facts.
I know i didnt get anything out of this article except an opinion.
