Blackheads are one of the leading causes of teenage depression. Not exactly blackheads, but the pressure to always look good can get in to the heads of these vulnerable youngsters. As we all know, the skin plays a very important

role in looking good. People with fair and clear skin can practically get away with a missing front tooth; oh you know what I mean! If your face is acne free it shows that: one, you have beautiful skin, and two, you have great hygiene which says a lot about who you are. Alright, I may be way over my head here but I personally think that make-up is absolutely unnecessary if we are blessed with great skin.

However, not all of us are blessed; and blackheads remain a pressing dilemma among youth and even adults. Since I believe that teenage depression should be taken seriously, my good deed for the day is making sure that you know how to permanently get rid of blackheads. I have a lot more resources on how to get rid of blackheads if you still want more information after reading this article. First things first, you need to understand why you have persistent blackheads.

Permanently getting rid of blackheads

Too much oil is a bad thing.

Open comedones, or more commonly known as blackheads, are typically caused by excess production of sebum or oil. That is also the reason why we usually get them in the T-zone of our face (forehead down to the nose). So if you really want to get rid of blackheads permanently, you have to go to the root cause instead of pricking out every blackhead you see growing. Now that you know that blackheads (or acne breakouts in general) are caused by excess oil production, that is what you want to resolve; that is where you want to focus all your energy.

Excess oil production can be hormonal. I can’t help you in that department as only a physician knows how to cure that, but there are some things you can do that will help. First, you have to turn off your computer (after reading this article of course) and do something physical. Walk to the store three blocks away, go jogging with your dog, or shoot some hoops; whatever will keep you active will help. Also, if you do not know what salads and fish are, you might as well start scanning your grocery so you can find them; because if you really want to get rid of blackheads forever, you need to eat more vegetables and lean meat. No, potato chips and fries do not count!

There are no quick-fixes for blackheads. Yes, you may cover them up with make-up if you need to be somewhere important and you need to look your best, but that won’t solve your problem. It takes discipline and determination, but it will all be worth it.
