How to Get Rid of Blackheads
Blackheads aren’t the most annoying pimples right? I mean they don’t get all big and red (and they usually don’t hurt that bad). Well, the truth is these blackhead pimples never seem to leave. Sure other types of zits may be more
intrusive, but at least they usually heal and vanish after a while. Blackhead pimples never seem to go away. This page will be dedicated to give you all the information you need so that you can know how to get rid of blackheads. Any comments or ideas of your own will also be welcome at the bottom.
A Brief Summary on what Causes Blackheads to Form
Most likely you don’t want to get into all the science behind how this type of pimple forms; however, a brief synopsis can be quite helpful. If you know how they form, then you can stop them from forming in the future. Here’s what you need to know:
Our bodies produce oil that is needed to keep our skin from drying out. On its way to the surface, this oil sometimes gets trapped. The oil can get trapped for a number of reasons (makeup, dead skin cells, dirt, other foreign substances, etc.). There are a lot of reasons why oil might be getting trapped in your skin, some of which you have no control over ( for example you might just have misshapen pores that don’t allow the oil to flow properly). When this trapped oil gets exposed to oxygen it turns black.
Getting Rid of Blackheads
Now that you understand that it is the trapped oil that causes these “little buggers” the solution should seem readily apparent: you need to prevent the oil in your skin from getting trapped. If you can pinpoint what is trapping the oil in your skin, then solving the problem should be relatively easy. However, it can be difficult to understand what is trapping the oil in your skin. The answer can vary quite dramatically from one person to the next because we are all so unique. One solution is to try different ways to get rid of blackheads. Once you find one that works for you, stick with it.
Different Ways of Solving the Blackhead Dilemma
The rest of this page will be dedicated to providing you with ways that help with blackhead removal. This list will continue to grow as users like you present their own ideas. Remember that what works for one person might not work for you, because your skin is unique. Also remember that it is always best to meet with a dermatologist. These experts have ways of finding out exactly what is trapping the oil in your skin.
How to Remove Blackheads Method #1 – Warm Towel
One of the most common methods used is what I have dubbed “The Warm Towel Method.” This method is extremely safe and can be quite effective for those who suffer from blackheads due to trapped oil from makeup, misshapen pores, or dead skin cells. Best of all, this is an easy solution that you can try without spending a dime.
Simply warm up a small wash cloth and place it on your face for 10-20 minutes each day. This is a great way to wind down at the end of the day. The warm moisture from the towel will help clean out your pores, allowing the oil to flow through your skin as intended. Make sure the cloth you are using is clean so that you don’t do more harm than good.
Method #2 – Avoid oil-based makeup and other skin products
A lot of people, girls mostly, use oil-based makeup. As mentioned above, these makeups can cause the oil in your skin to get clogged which leads to more blackheads. It’s becoming easier and easier to find skin products that aren’t oil based (just take a look around your local super-mart).
Method #3 – Use a routine
The video here describes a great routine that can help you get rid of blackheads. The video provides several solutions that are worth trying.
Method #4 – Find a good acne product that works for you
There are a lot of good acne products out there .The truth is it is almost impossible to recommend one because we all have different skin. Some people swear by Proactive while others say that it is a scam. The reason this happens is because the product works for some people and it doesn’t for others. The only way to find out what works for you is trying several different products. If you are getting inpatient, then a dermatologist can definitely speed up this process.
Method #5 – Removing blackheads with pore strips
If you have had blackheads for an extended period of time, then you have definitely been tempted to use these strips. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could just put a strip on the infected area and pull off all those stinking blackheads?? I have to admit that I have personally had day dreams about doing this. Some people will claim that this method doesn’t work; others will claim that it does. Again, it really depends on the individual. There is nothing like trying it out for yourself. That being said, you should know that many people complain of skin irritation when they use this method.
Method #6 – Removing blackheads using a mini-vacuum
This is another method that we day dream about. Come on you can admit it. How awesome would it be to just plunk one of these mini-vacuums over our blackheads and watch them be sucked out right before our eyes? It would be extremely awesome, but these little vacuums aren’t going to work for everybody.

I usually don’t but the actual St.Ives version but the stores generic version cuz it works just as well.
Well I have a bad habit of stopping treatments after i see improvement or when i get to busy. But something that worked for me was one of those face spa machines. It was like 20 dollars and it made me sweat out the acne and blackheads it really helped the blackheads. It can be tough to do it like i do it sense i put a towel on my head keeping in all the heat. It can feel kinda painful according to my sis. And i forgot to use moisturizer so my forehead got dry. On a different note its also is good for sinus stuff. my mom always seems to have a stuffy nose and has had acne all her life. She used it once but didn’t like the heat. It made her face feel smooth and she said it was the best nights sleep she had. I’ve try a lot of stuff. i like the honey and sugar scrubs too.
I took all my makeup off and then boiled the kettel and then i used a towel and put my face 12 inches away from the water so the steam opens my paws then i used lemon juice and just lemon and i rubbed it on my face it stings but thats when you know it is working then washed it off with COLD water and then used a facial cleanser from lush but you can use diffrent ones and washed that off with cold water then put a light moisturiser on !!
